My sense is that they're willingly aping the federal electoral strategy to gain more popularity exploiting Trump. But Premiers have no business in international negotiations. When Mulroney was negotiating NAFTA he told the Premiers to stay quiet.
Trump's provincially-variable tariffs have nothing to do with premiers' comments. His selection was based on oil and potash being too important to the US economy.
I suspect Trump and his e-mail printer lady couldn't name one Canadian premier.
